Why Stay at Mount Robson Mountain River Lodge?

December 9th, 2013 by

Mount Robson Mountain River LodgeWhen it comes to promoting Mount Robson Mountain River Lodge, we try our best to do an honest job of telling you about the lodge and cabins, the services we offer, and the (amazingly beautiful, we think) area we’re in but … why take our word for it? Sometimes it’s just better to let others do your talking for you.

With that in mind, here are some reviews we’ve received from our guests on a third-party website, Trip Advisor – we think they do a pretty good job …

This is a great lodge, and it’s perfectly located near a number of great day hikes around the Valemount/Jasper region. Claudia and Curtis are very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfasts are fantastic. I don’t know who the main cook/chef is (and it could be both of them), but the food is outstanding. Try to arrange a dinner if they’re offering it that night.

I suspect there are few B&Bs with such a view of Mt. Robson. Mountain gazers would do well to reserve one of the rooms upstairs in the lodge that have decks and sliding glass doors facing the peak. When the clouds dissipated following the autumn’s first higher-elevation snow, the view was just glorious. The inn is very close to hiking trails to the mountain and wilderness areas. Whatever your plans may be, the day starts off with a great breakfast.

Upon our arrival I was already in awe of our point blank view of Mt. Robson in all of its glory. How could it get any better, a river of glacial water rushing by the lodge is how. Woot! This picturesque setting was stunning with the wonderfully designed and crafted log lodge. Our host was very welcoming and got us settled in to our room. With a mountain home feel the room was cozy and a perfect fit for our overnight stay. After our 9 hour drive we enjoyed crashing out on the bed in front of our flat screen. Breakfast was very good and we enjoyed the view from the breakfast table of Mt. Robson and the glacial river rushing below.

We had a great stay here with delightful hosts who were extremely helpful and who went out of their way to make our stay so great. The views from the house were stunning and we were fortunate enough to see Mount Robson in all its glory. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed incredibly comfortable. The breakfasts and evening meals were extremely tasty and we enjoyed experiencing some true Canadian food.

We’d post even more but, honestly, we’re blushing enough, already – if you’d like to read more, please feel free to do so at: TripAdvisor.com

Upcoming Canada Day Celebrations

June 19th, 2013 by insideout

Come to one of the most beautiful parks in the nation for Canada Day this year! Canada Day falls on Monday July 1 this year. Celebrations will be taking place throughout Valemount, about 20 minutes from our Mount Robson lodge. Some of the events for the day include nature walks, an Arts & Craft Fair, children’s activities and free souvenirs. The Valemount Museum will be hosting folk music and giving out free cake and ice cream. They will also have other concessions for sale. There is sure to be something to interest the whole family!

Quick Canada Day History – The national holiday celebrates the anniversary of the July 1, 1867 enactment of the British North America Act, which united three colonies into a single country called Canada within the British Empire.

If you have spent the last few days hiking and exploring the park, taking a day to have some small town fun and homemade ice cream may be just the treat you need!

Canadian Rocky Mountains Getaway

January 21st, 2013 by insideout

During these long and dark winter months, break up the monotony with a getaway to the stunning and scenic Canadian Rockies. Next month is Valentine’s Day and for those of you celebrating, our Mt Robson Lodge is a secluded and private destination for you and your loved one.

Whether you would prefer the pampering of our bed and breakfast lodging, or the privacy of a self-contained cabin, we have just the right place for you. Each of our cabins has a fully equipped kitchen, romantic fireplace and satellite TV. Pet-friendly cabins are also available – because sometimes, dogs are part of the family!

If you stay in the lodge, we prepare breakfast fresh every morning as part of your stay. Enjoy chatting with other guests, many times international, around the breakfast table!

Stir Fry

Enjoy a delicious meal made here at Mountain River Lodge, especially for you.

Our secluded cabins, along with the lodge, are on the banks of a glacier river. Glass french doors in the cabins provide stunning views of the largest mountain in the Canadian Rockies – Mount Robson.

We think that winter in the Rockies can be the perfect time for a couple to just unwind, cozy up together and reconnect during these quiet months. We serve an evening meal here at the Inn, so if you don’t want to, you barely have to leave the property!

However, if you prefer to explore the nearby mountain towns, we recommend Valemount, about 20 minutes away by car. The quaint town is fun for shopping or having a drink at the pub. We also enjoy the food at Earl’s, which has a lively environment. Fiddle River is a nice place for fish and seafood. And of course, outdoor activities abound.

Bring yourself and your loved one for a getaway in one of the most beautiful places in the world – the Rockies. We look forward to being your hosts!
